Morning Jazz : “Red Clay” by Freddie Hubbard
REVIEW OVERVIEW
Groovy. In 1970, jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard released his sophomore album Red Clay, which pushed his stylee further towards the soul-jazz fusion. But this song is significant for another reason. It lives another life in a sample somewhere else. Try 1:14 for a hint.
Freddie Hubbard gets song writing credentials for a 1993 track aside last names Davis, Muhammad and Taylor on an album called Midnight Marauders.
It’s Sucka Nigga.
And if Tribe could appreciate the soul radiating from this Freddie Hubbard track, there’s no reason for anyone else not to- good morning.
