Dudes News Wishes Shaq Diesel a Happy Birthday!
Shaq Diesel, The Big Aristotle, the Most Dominant Ever. These are just a few of the many names by which we know Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal. Everyone knows him for his basketball prowess, but in honor of his birthday I’m going to give you a few more reasons to love him.
Shaq is not only a hilarious guy, but a dominant athlete. He was born March 6th, 1972, making this birthday his 41st. He spent his college career at LSU shattering backboards and throwing his weight around and his NBA career was essentially the same story. At 7 foot 1 and 325 pounds the man could not be stopped on the low block, making him one of the most dominant centers of all time. He was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 92 and won Rookie of the Year that season. He is also one of three men to win regular season MVP, All-Star MVP, and Finals MVP in the same year. Check out the video to see what I mean about shattering backboards, dude kinda made a habit of it.
Shaq Daddy was not only a dominant athlete, but a talented rapper as well. He released four albums, the first of which, Shaq Diesel, went platinum. I feel like nobody really knows this guy is that talented, but winning 4 NBA titles and having a platinum record under your belt is no joke. My favorite album of his is You Can’t Stop the Reign (clever title right?). This album includes verses/vocals from hip-hop legends like Notorious B.I.G., Jay-z, Rakim, Mobb Deep, and Bobby Brown. Click below if you’re interested in adding either of these gems to your stash, we’ve got both on vinyl.
Oh yeah, the guy was also in a movie. He plays a 5,000 year old genie in the 1996 comedy/fantasy film Kazaam. Check out this clip from the beginning, it’s hilarious and if you haven’t seen the whole thing I highly recommend it. You can grab it on DVD by clicking the picture link below the video.
Happy Birthday Big Fella! 41 isn’t THAT old…
