Brew Review: East End Big Hop
Here’s the thing about the East End Big Hop: the name is deceiving. The nose contains accents of grapefruit and fig. It pours a beautiful, burnt orange color with a medium-thick head. On first sip, the hops immediately hit the front of the palate, but recede equally as fast to give way to a malty, if not slightly earthy, aftertaste. The name is deceiving because frankly, it doesn’t deliver the level of hoppiness that the name implies. Not to say that’s a bad thing; I prefer a complex IPA that doesn’t wreak havoc on my palate every sip. Cheers to you, East End.
