Steve Nash passes Magic Johnson for 4th all time career assists

“you know we’re in the hall of fame right?” “yea, but what about Dwight?” *both laugh
10,142 career assists, that’s the big number for Steve Nash that puts him above the legendary Magic Johnson for fourth all time on the NBA career assist list and it comes with 5:06 left in the 4th quarter tonight vs the Celtics. Impressive marks for Steve Nash, who has been working to find his role on a struggling Lakers squad. They’ve done better of late, but still are four games out of the playoffs (depending on the outcome of tonight’s game.) It’s going to take 192 more assists to get to 3rd placer Mark Jackson and only… 5,664 to reach assist leader John Stockton. Ok so he’s close to the top, but not that close. Regardless, Nash is almost certainly a Hall of Famer and is amongst the NBA’s most elite both historically and currently (in my opinion). His career shooting percentage is 42.75%, putting him at 8th all time in that category. Numbers don’t lie folks, Steve Nash in an elite player and we’re lucky to be able to watch such a skilled baller take the court.
