Black Eyed Susan’s About to Get Red? Bill to Legalize Marijuana Introduced In Maryland

Hot off the presses! Delegate Curt Anderson (D-Baltimore) has filed legislation in Maryland that would legalize and regulate Marijuana’ use, possession, and sale to adults over the age of 21. Brought forth through House Bill 1453, the system would regulate and tax Marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol.

If the bill passed, the Maryland comptroller would license marijuana retail stores, testing facilities, and wholesale facilities while exercising a $50 per ounce tax on wholesale transactions. Positively, the excise tax revenue would fund treatment programs to prevent drug, tobacco, and alcohol abuse. If you want to read the whole proposal click here.
