2013 NBA All Star Weekend Fashion Highlights: Leather & Westbrook
Sunday evening officially marked the end of NBA All Star Weekend 2013 Houston. In a weekend truly designed for the fans of basketball, we witnessed several miraculous events on All Star Saturday Night and in the actual game on Sunday. The weekend was highlighted by breakout performances from point guards Kyrie Irving and Chris Paul on the court; Russell Westbrook and others dominated courtside with their luxurious outfits throughout the weekend. Lets take a look at some of All Star Weekend 2013’s best fits.
It’s no question Chris Paul and Terrence Ross dominated the Houston hardwood; oppositely, leather was the popular fashion choice courtside. Lebron James and rapper Drake sported En Noir’s $1,300 leather sweatpants, while LA Clipper Teammates Chris Paul and Blake Griffin continued the trend by sporting leather jackets. Kevin Durant brought out the trendy Givenchy Shiny Beads & Stars shirt ($1,446) with a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1’s ($140). Cp3 took home MVP honors for his play on the court, but Russell Westbrook wins the MVP for his exceptional fashion choices. Mr. Why Not laced up a pair of unreleased Tokyo Air Jordan 5’s ($2,500+) along with some nifty camo paints while coaching the celebrity game. To the dunk contest, he came dressed in one of my personal favorites, the Stephen Sprousse Louis Vuitton shirt and a pair of $615 Balenciaga Cotes High Top Sneakers. To top it off, Westbrook broke out a bow tie and suspenders to wear to the game itself. Russell Westbrook truly lives by his catch phrase “Why Not”; we look forward to see what he pulls out of the closet as the NBA season continues on.
