Port Brewing Company serves up a radical treat with their Mongo Double IPA. If the bottles gnarly surfer graphic fails to draw your attention, the beers exuberant flavor surely will. Mongo Double IPA pours an appealing light amber color with a small head. The beer flaunts a pungent tropical hoppy scent with subtle hints of papaya, mango, and pineapple. My taste buds were highly enlightened after sipping Mongo for the first time; the balance of hoppiness to bitterness was immaculately perfect. This is certainly one of the best double Ipa’s I have tasted and at 8.5% ABV it is dangerously drinkable. Perfect for a summer evening or spring afternoon, were confidant you’ll enjoy Mongo Double Ipa.
