Brew Review: Magic Hat Brewing Co. Pistil
This beer contains dandelions… yes dandelions, among some assorted oats and hops that give it a completely unique taste. It pours a pale yellow and smells crisp and fresh much like the smell of a garden. The taste of this beer was very short, a strange experience for me as beer usually has a pretty long lasting flavor (especially the IPA that I prefer). I’m quite serious when I say that each draught I tasted for a second and then the taste was gone. While it’s there it’s reminiscent of vegetables, slightly sweet slightly sour and mildly pleasant. I found myself unsatisfied with this beer because the flavor seems to have potential but is completely underrepresented. It was certainly very quenching, but didn’t have a strong enough character to be what I want in a beer. Not my favorite, but interesting nonetheless.
