DudesNews says Happy Birthday to Bob Marley!

February 06, 2013 / by / 0 Comment

Robert Nesta Marley was born February 6, 1945 and would’ve been 68 today were he still alive. His incredible music inspired people across race, gender, belief, and country leading many to see him in a prophetic light. The message is reminiscent of prophets in its dedication to love and God and his message certainly reached a large audience (his posthumously released Legends album is the best selling reggae album of all time). I think to myself today what Bob would have to say about the state of things today; would he admire our progress, disapprove of our arrogance, or something else entirely? Something tells me the answer to that question relates directly to the statement ‘the good die young’. Bob Marley died of cancer 31 years ago. So much has changed of our world in a mere thirty years (I haven’t even been alive thirty years) and it’s quite difficult to keep track of. I think because of who Bob Marley was and eternally will be he would say the same things today he said all those years ago. One love. One heart.
