Brew Review: St. Nikolaus Bock

8 Almost a 9! Still highly recommended

This Bock bier is distributed by Penn Brewery (a local favorite) and is classified in their ‘Brewer’s Reserve’. It pours quite dark, almost black and exudes odors of nut and spice. The taste is much the same with sweet, warm, caramel, and nut overtones with a spicy potent finish. If you’re a fan of Bock bier you’re going to enjoy this beer quite a bit. If you haven’t tried a Bock bier you will still probably enjoy this beer in one way or another, though it is quite dark and bold in flavor. Overall the malty taste is pleasurable and the beer looks as heady as it feels which puts off some and enthralls others. The choice is yours
